Our Mission Statement
The Meta Spiritual Teaching Centre is an inclusive spiritual community that is open-minded, non-discriminatory, and open-hearted. We strive to create a safe space where everyone feels valued and accepted. Our mission is to teach, ordain, and support our student ministers, encouraging them to achieve their full spiritual potential and inspiring them to uplift others. To Teach, To Grow, To Inspire.
At the Meta Spiritual Teaching Centre, part of the Ontario metaphysical ministry, we acknowledge and honor the fundamental value and dignity of all individuals. We respect that our membership reflects a variety of perspectives and a wide range of lived experiences. We believe that affirming this diversity has both intrinsic and instrumental value. Furthermore, we believe that showcasing diverse contributions fosters richer debates and expands knowledge.
We are committed to creating and maintaining an environment that respects diverse traditions, heritages, and experiences. We aim for the inclusion and recognition of all members, regardless of race, age, culture, ability, ethnicity, nationality, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, marital status, religious affiliation, and socioeconomic status. Who We Are
The Metaphysical Ministry of Canada arises from the Bancroft Centre for Awakening Spiritual Growth, headquartered in Lakefield, Ontario. We ordain our Ministers once yearly at our General Assembly held in September. Our ministry courses are offered through the Meta Spiritual Teaching Centre, contributing to our inclusive spiritual community. The Bancroft Centre for Awakening Spiritual Growth is registered through the Marriage Office of the Province of Ontario, allowing us to sponsor our Ministers for an officiant license.
In February 2015, the Ontario Marriage Office recognized our denomination as the first and, until then, the only metaphysical ministry in Ontario. Then, in March 2016, we became the Canadian representative for the University of Metaphysics, the University of Sedona, and the International Metaphysical Ministry. The International Metaphysical Ministry (IMM), headquartered in Sedona, Arizona, has a robust community of over 7,000+ practicing IMM ministers in 120 countries, and our faith community has been recognized since 1959.
What is Metaphysics?
Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy concerned with examining the scope and meaning of life by gaining an understanding of the fundamental nature of being. It serves as a foundation for spiritual facilitators, recognizing that all life and energy are interconnected, interdependent, and originate from one Divine source.
We Believe
We believe that there is one power in the Universe, everywhere present, manifesting as life through all forms of organized matter, called by some God, by others Spirit.
As part of our inclusive spiritual community, we affirm that this Universal Power is present in all humans and indeed, in all things. We express our belief that all parts of the universe and all forms of life are manifestations of Spirit or Infinite Intelligence, and thus, we are all children of that Divine Source.
We believe in the eternal existence of the human soul, and once our physical body finishes its journey, our essence, our soul, continues into perpetuity.
In our Ontario metaphysical ministry, we hold that all life is sacred and interconnected, and that each is an integral part of the whole. By that token, we believe that all individuals are responsible for the welfare of the world and of the community in which they live. Therefore, we strive to create unity and inclusivity by practicing love, compassion, and acceptance for ourselves and for others.
We believe that all faiths, religions, and belief systems have a purpose and were created by the God of their own understanding in accordance with the beliefs and moral values of peoples of all cultures, races, and origins. Therefore, we encourage all individuals to recognize, accept, and to grow in understanding of varying religious traditions and philosophies as long as the faith movement does not advocate harm to others. Our understanding can only be gained by our personal perception of the creative force.
As spiritual facilitators, we believe that it is our mission to find divine purpose and spiritual fulfillment, and by so doing, enrich our own lives and the lives of others, ultimately creating heaven on earth.
